Come meet River Valley Raptors trained falconry birds and learn more about the ancient art of falconry. Falconry is a part of human heritage - a long-practiced lifestyle where a trained raptor hunts wild prey for its handler. This program will explain the rich history of falconry around the world, falconry basics, and how one can become a falconer. You’ll get to meet the River Valley raptor bird and even observe one fly from glove to glove just as it would during a hunt. This program was made possible by an Incentive Grant from The Friends of Wisconsin State Parks and funding provided by The Friends of Devil’s Lake State Park.
