Come meet River Valley Raptors trained falconry birds and learn more about the ancient art of falconry. Falconry is a part of human heritage - a long-practiced lifestyle where a trained raptor hunts wild prey for its handler. This program will explain the rich history of falconry around the world, falconry basics, and how one can become a falconer. You’ll get to meet the River Valley raptor bird and even observe one fly from glove to glove just as it would during a hunt. This program was made possible by an Incentive Grant from The Friends of Wisconsin State Parks and funding provided by The Friends of Devil’s Lake State Park. Meet at the Rock Elm Shelter (North Shore).
