Native Arts and Culture of Teewakacak: An Introduction to Porcupine Quills

Join us to engage and enjoy in the art and culture of the area’s Indigenous peoples.

Melanie Tallmadge Sainz (Ho-Chunk) will provide a hands-on workshop integrating natural porcupine quills and beads. Participants will create bracelets or chokers as a memory of this shared cultural experience. This program was made possible by an Incentive Grant from The Friends of Wisconsin State Parks and funding provided by The Friends of Devil’s Lake State Park, The Little Eagle Arts Foundation, and the Sauk County Arts, Humanities, and Historic Preservation grant.
