Friends President, Dave Barger will host 2 weekends for the Volunteer Vacation: August 10/11 and then the following week August 17/18. Detailed information has been posted below:
West Bluff Trail Work – Two Weekends in August
Your chance to volunteer and help repair the West Bluff Trail has arrived! Dave Barger of the Friends of Devils Lake will be leading the effort to improve the tread with new cold pack asphalt on the south end of the West Bluff Trail. Work entails removing crumbling sections, moving asphalt in buckets, and tamping asphalt onto the trail. If you want to lend a hand and assist with the work, here are the details.
WHEN
Saturday August 10 - 9:00 am to 2:00 pm
Sunday August 11 - 9:00 am to 2:00 pm
Saturday August 17 - 9:00 am to 2:00 pm
Sunday August 18 - 9:00 am to 2:00 pm
WHERE
Meet at the Boat Trailer parking lot (South Shore) at 8:30 am, each day. We’ll make lunches and grab snacks in the parking lot before headed to the work site.
WHO
Adults over 21 years old, and young adults 16-17 with a parent also participating
WHAT TO BRING
Wear appropriate clothes (that can get dirty) and shoes (no sandals or open toe). Bring: water bottles that can be refilled, sunscreen and bug spray, raingear if rain is a possibility.
Gloves and tools to be provided.

You aren’t a member or don’t want to join Friends? No, problem just bring your own lunch!
If you want to camp/dine on Saturday evening, please email Dave Barger (dbarger717@gmail.com) so he can get a head count to plan the meals for Saturday supper and Sunday breakfast.
If you are camping, you need to bring your own tent, sleeping bag and sleeping pad.
